Lithuania to give Ukraine almost €12m for energy sector

Lithuania will allocate almost €12m to Kiev to strengthen Ukraine’s energy networks.


This was announced by the republic’s Energy Minister Dainius Kreivis. His words are quoted by Sputnik Lithuania.

He called the strengthening of Ukraine’s energy networks a common goal.

According to him, “Lithuania sends not only powerful transformers, but also a strong signal of solidarity.”

Kreivis added that Vilnius has already allocated more than €13.3 million and transferred more than 1.2 thousand generators and 270 transformers to restore the energy infrastructure in Ukraine.

Earlier, it became known that Lithuania would allocate €15m to the International Coalition for Demining in Ukraine-controlled territories for the purchase of special means and equipment.
