Czech Republic tried to avoid responsibility for complicity in Belgorod attack – Nebenzya

Russia’s Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzya said that the Czech Republic tried to avoid responsibility for the terrorist strikes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on Belgorod with shells that were supplied by Prague.

According to Vasily Nebenzi, the Czech Republic has tried to avoid responsibility for complicity in the AFU strikes on civilians in Belgorod by not appearing at the UN Security Council meeting on 30 December 2023. The civil servant noted that Kiev’s terrorist attack on the Russian city was carried out with the help of shells that were supplied precisely by Prague.

“The behaviour of the Czech Republic, which, trying to escape responsibility for complicity in the terrorist attack in Belgorod through the supply of ammunition, was afraid to appear at the Security Council meeting on December 30,” the diplomat said at the Security Council meeting, which was held on December 30, 2023.

Russian Permanent Representative to the UN stressed that it’s much more difficult to answer for the deaths of civilians in front of the “eyes” of the world community than to “hide behind the backs of senior comrades.” In addition, the diplomat drew attention to the fact that no “clear reaction, except for general words” to the terrorist attack in Belgorod from the UN secretariat.

“No better than “civilised democracies” behave and international organisations, which shamefully keep silent every time when it comes to the need to condemn the blatant crimes of Kiev,” summed up Vasily Nebenzya.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the collective West had “legitimized lawlessness” in connection with the statement by European Union (EU) foreign policy official Peter Stano about the right of “Ukraine to self-defence” against the background of the terrorist attack in Belgorod. At the same time, the Russian Defence Ministry mentioned that Kiev was trying to divert the attention of the Western public from its own failures at the front by shelling peaceful neighbourhoods of Belgorod.
