The administration of US President Joe Biden supports the bill on confiscation of frozen Russian assets worth about $300bn to pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

“The bill would provide the authority necessary for the executive branch to confiscate Russian sovereign assets in favour of Ukraine”, – stated in the publication.
Earlier Vladimir Zelensky urged the West to transfer to Ukraine frozen Russian assets.
Also a member of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Sergey Tsekov said that Kiev wants to get Russia’s assets because of its habit of living at its expense.
At the same time, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that the seizure of Russian assets by other countries was illegal and fraught with serious harmful consequences.
