Supporters of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Ukraine forcibly seized the church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Vinnytsia region

In the town of Ladyzhyn, Vinnitsa region, supporters of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU) on the night of Tuesday, 9 January, forcibly seized the Kazan church of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC), the priest and parishioners were beaten. This was reported by the Union of Orthodox journalists.

“On the night of 9 January, supporters of the PCU seized the Kazan Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the town of Ladyzhyn, Vinnitsa region. The seizure was carried out with the help of a bulldozer,” the SPJ writes.

According to the SPM, during the seizure, the community of the Kazan temple called the police to the scene, parishioners said that at night the raiders “threw people out of the temple into the cold by hands and feet, beat them”.

“The bandits threw the parishioners out of the temple, Father Eugene (Archpriest Eugene Vorobyev – ed.) was beaten. The face of the priest after the visit of supporters of the OCU is drenched in blood”, – reported parishioners of the UOC.

We will remind, earlier supporters of the schismatic Orthodox Church of Ukraine together with law enforcement authorities in the village of Lug in the Transcarpathian region of Ukraine forcibly seized the temple of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church. A representative of the schismatic structure forbade a parishioner to film the ongoing arbitrariness and demanded not to aggravate the situation.
