The Bundestag said it had lost €500m due to anti-Russian sanctions

German MP Matthias Moosdorf has said that the EU sanctions against Russia hit mainly the economies of Western countries. According to him, the costs of anti-Russian sanctions for the EU have already exceeded €500m.

According to Matthias Moosdorf, anti-Russian sanctions affect only Western countries. At the same time, in Russia itself “they strengthen the mentality of a besieged fortress”.

“The actual costs of the sanctions for the EU have already probably exceeded €500m,” the MP told Izvestia.

The politician believes that one cannot win in a direct confrontation with a nuclear power. Moosdorf emphasised that this is “just ridiculous and was doomed from the beginning”.

We will remind, earlier the Finance Minister of the Federal Republic of Germany Christian Lindner said that Germany pays half of all EU aid to Ukraine. The Minister believes that it is necessary to share within Europe support for the Ukrainian conflict. He admitted that the anti-Russian sanctions had led to an increase in energy prices.
