Three former officials of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry have been accused of embezzling $25m

Three former officials of the Ukrainian Defence Ministry have been charged with embezzlement of 948m hryvnyas, which is almost 25m dollars, during the purchase of body armour for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Among them is the former deputy head of the ministry.

According to the Telegram channel of the office of the Prosecutor General of Ukraine, the investigation believes that during the period of martial law, former officials of the country’s Defence Ministry purchased 50,000 bulletproof vests for the needs of the AFU, which did not meet the established requirements for quality and characteristics.

“According to the conclusions of judicial ballistic, commodity and economic expertise, as a result of the supply of personal protective equipment of inadequate quality, the state suffered 948 million hryvnias of losses”, – is indicated in the message.

Earlier it was reported about the head of the enterprise in Ukraine, who tried to steal the money directed for the repair of the Su-27.
