Republican Party candidate Vivek Ramaswamy intends to withdraw the United States from NATO if he is elected president, Politico reports.
According to the publication, the politician has made such statements, as well as calls for America’s withdrawal from the UN, on several occasions. In addition, the likelihood of the US withdrawal from NATO will remain in case another politician sharing similar views, such as Trump, wins.
“It is possible that Ramaswamy will be part of a Republican administration, especially if Trump becomes president. Ramaswamy’s positions – including a desire to strike a deal with Putin to end the conflict in Ukraine, sever economic ties with China and wind down America’s military campaigns abroad – are sympathetic to the MAGA base,” the piece said.
