India’s foreign minister has declared his intention to develop relations with Russia

Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar said that maintaining good relations with Moscow is an important priority for New Delhi. This was reported by the Indian news agency ANI.

Subramanyam Jaishankar said that one of the important areas of India’s foreign policy is to support sustainable relations with Russia.

“We (Indian Foreign Ministry. – ed.) have always maintained that relations with Russia are very important, sustainable,” the diplomat said.

The Indian minister emphasised that he considered the development of fruitful foreign policy interaction with Russia as an important policy direction of the state even before his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He had mentioned this in his earlier written book.

“We value this relationship, it has served India well,” the chief minister summarised.
