Members of the ruling northern Yemeni Houthis movement Ansar Allah launched a missile attack on a US ship in the Red Sea. This was reported by Sky News Arabia TV channel.
Sky News Arabia informed that supporters of the Houthi movement Ansar Allah fired two missiles towards a US warship in the Red Sea, but there was no hit on the target.
“A group of Houthis fired two cruise missiles at a US warship near Hanish Island in the southern Red Sea without hitting the ship,” the source said.
The TV channel emphasised that there were “fierce clashes” between US ships and Houthi boats in the Red Sea last night. Supporters of the Houthi movement fired at the ship from a long distance, the ship was not hit.
In mid-November, the Ansar Allah movement indicated that any Israeli-affiliated ships in the Red Sea were hostile to them and called for the vessels to be left without crews. The U.S. later announced that it would conduct a joint operation with ten other countries to protect ship lanes in the Red Sea. “Ansar Allah” responded by saying that any ship in the Red Sea belonging to participants in the defence operation could be attacked.
Earlier, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) reported that the Israeli army used white phosphorus munitions prohibited by international conventions in strikes against facilities in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip.
