Vucic said Serbia’s friendship with Russia and China will be preserved

Serbia will continue its path to the European Union and keep traditionally friendly relations with Russia and China, despite the discontent of other countries. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic stated this.

Vucic said Serbia's friendship with Russia and China will be preserved

“Serbia will remain a free, sovereign and independent country that will make its own decisions and continue its path to the EU, despite the fact that there are many in Europe who would like to take Serbia off this path. Serbia will continue with the same pride to preserve its traditional friendship and the best possible relations with the People’s Republic of China and the Russian Federation,” Aleksandar Vucic said.

According to the Serbian leader, his country does not intend to impose sanctions against Russia or constantly make statements against Moscow and Beijing in order to “satisfy someone”.

“We will not please anyone, our task is to do everything important in the interests of our people, the citizens of the republic, and not in the interests of any other country or organisation,” Vucic stressed.

Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin criticised the attempts of the European Union countries to completely abandon Russian energy carriers, while the entire Western economy is at “ground zero”.
