Peskov: boomerang effect of Western sanctions against Russia is obvious

The US and EU countries, imposing unprecedented sanctions against Russia, did not think at all about the boomerang effect, which is obvious. This was stated by the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov.

He noted that at the time when the US and the EU imposed sanctions against Russia, they did not think at all about the boomerang effect.

“But now it is already obvious. And they are not just thinking about it, but many are already asking themselves whether they did the right thing,” Peskov said while talking to journalists.

The presidential spokesman added that the West’s attempts to confiscate frozen Russian assets would have even more damaging consequences.

Earlier, Russian ambassador to Germany Sergey Nechaev said that there were no prerequisites for the cancellation of the EU anti-Russian sanctions.
