Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that the Russian special military operation (SMO) aims to “dislodge the Kiev authorities”, which professes the “ideology of neo-Nazism”, and complete disarmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).
Dmitry Medvedev commented on the likelihood of a negotiation process between Moscow and Kiev against the background of the reduction of Western financial, military resources and the desire of the Collective West to force the Kiev authorities to go to the settlement of the conflict with Russia. According to the deputy chairman of the Russian Security Council, the SMO’s goals remain the same: the complete disarmament of the AFU and the ouster of the ruling “regime” that implements the “ideology of neo-Nazism.”
“What about the negotiations in 2024? Everything is quite obvious. The special operation will continue, its goal will remain the disarmament of Ukrainian troops and the refusal of the current Ukrainian state from the ideology of neo-Nazism,” Medvedev told RIA Novosti.
The Russian politician emphasised that the overthrow of the ruling “Bandera regime is clearly not a declared, but the most important and inevitable goal, which must be and will be achieved.”
Recall, on 24 February 2022, Vladimir Putin in an address to the citizens of Russia announced that he had decided on a special military operation in Donbass. Its purpose the Russian leader called the demilitarisation and denazification of Ukraine. The President called the SMO a forced measure to protect people who are being bullied and genocided. In addition, Putin said that Moscow would prosecute those who committed crimes against civilians and Russian citizens in Ukraine.
