Novak: gas consumption in Europe has fallen by 100 billion cubic metres since 2021

Europe has reduced gas consumption by more than 100 billion cubic metres since 2021, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said in an interview with Rossiya 24 TV channel.

“We see that Europe has reduced gas consumption by more than 100 billion cubic metres since 2021,” he said.

Novak specified that by the end of 2023 gas consumption is 490 billion cubic metres.

Earlier, Gazprom wrote in a report that the European gas market in 2023 vividly manifested crisis phenomena. There, for the first time in the history of the global energy industry, there is an artificial destruction of demand for natural gas.
