Germany approves a record €11.7bn worth of arms transfers in 2023

Arms deliveries for a record €11.7bn have been approved in 2023 by the German authorities. Information about this is given by the German news agency DPA.

The new arms supply programme managed to surpass the previous record set in 2021. Then Berlin approved deliveries worth €9.35bn.

It is noted that 90% of the volume of the new supply fell on the EU, NATO, Ukraine, as well as Japan, Australia, South Korea and other countries. At the same time, as reported by TASS, more than a third of all supplies approved since the beginning of 2023, falls on Kiev.

Earlier, it became known about the German proposal to increase income tax for the sake of military aid to Ukraine.
