“Regardless of the difficult situation in the world, relations between Russia and Serbia, which are based on centuries-old traditions of friendship and spiritual closeness, are developing in a constructive spirit. I count on the continuation of our dialogue and productive joint work on topical issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda,” the administration of the Serbian head of state quoted Putin’s congratulatory message as saying.

Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the prestige of Belgrade had grown in the international arena due to the refusal to impose anti-Russian sanctions. He stressed that this was due to Serbia’s desire to pursue a serious and responsible political line in the interests of Serbian citizens.
