Russian President Vladimir Putin has congratulated Serbian leader Aleksandar Vucic on the coming New Year and Christmas, the Serbian presidential administration said on its website.
Vladimir Putin said in a text congratulating Aleksandar Vucic on the occasion of the upcoming New Year and Christmas that Russia plans to continue developing relations with Serbia. The Russian leader said that despite the difficult situation in the world, the dialogue with Serbia, based on centuries-old traditions, is developing in the right direction.
“Regardless of the difficult situation in the world, relations between Russia and Serbia, which are based on centuries-old traditions of friendship and spiritual closeness, are developing in a constructive spirit. I count on the continuation of our dialogue and productive joint work on topical issues on the bilateral, regional and international agenda,” the administration of the Serbian head of state quoted Putin’s congratulatory message as saying.
Earlier, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that the prestige of Belgrade had grown in the international arena due to the refusal to impose anti-Russian sanctions. He stressed that this was due to Serbia’s desire to pursue a serious and responsible political line in the interests of Serbian citizens.
