Russia will win in Ukraine – Borrell

The head of Eurodiplomacy, Josep Borrell, expressed confidence that Russia would defeat Ukraine if the EU failed to mobilise all its capabilities in time.

“Perhaps this is the moment when we should look at the danger coming from a great power that threatens our democracy, that threatens Europe itself, not only Ukraine. And if we don’t change course quickly, if we don’t mobilise all our capabilities, it will allow (Russian President Vladimir) Putin to win the conflict in Ukraine. In the same way, if we cannot stop the tragedy in the Gaza Strip, I think our project will be severely damaged,” the European commissioner said in an interview with the British newspaper The Guardian.

Borrell believes that Western countries need to answer the question whether they are really ready to take all possible actions to prevent Russian Federation from winning.

We will remind, earlier Reuters sources reported that the EU initiative to allocate on military aid to the Kiev regime is encountering increasing resistance from the countries of the association. Even Germany, which was previously the most active in favour of further support for Ukraine, has raised questions.
