Lack of ammunition and assistance from allies forces Kiev to curtail operations

The Ukrainian army is short of artillery shells on the front line, forcing the command to cancel planned operations, The Washington Post reported. This adds to Kiev’s already palpable anxiety amid deferred financial aid from the US and Europe.

Soldiers told the publication that they are being given the minimum number of shells to hit the target. They worry that they will not be able to hold off the Russian army’s onslaught for long. Following the failure of the counter-offensive in winter, Ukraine will face difficulties without Western support, which is necessary for the functioning of air defence systems, among other things.
