Monika Schnitzer, a member of the German government’s economic council, has proposed to increase income tax in order to help Ukraine more seriously.
She made such an initiative in an interview with Rheinische Post.
According to Schnitzer, the special events that are now taking place around the Ukrainian conflict require special measures.
“A possible response to this challenge could be a solidarity surcharge with Ukraine on income tax on military aid,” RIA Novosti quoted her as saying.
Earlier, Bavarian Prime Minister and chairman of the Christian Social Union Markus Söder said Germany was sliding into crisis and becoming “ragged.”
