EBRD to lend Moldova €165m for gas purchases

Moldova will receive a €165m loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) for the purchase and storage of gas. According to the press service of the republic’s parliament, the relevant agreement has already been ratified.

The report says that the MPs ratified the agreement on the loan and grant agreement within the Energy Security Project.

The agreement also provides for the Norwegian government to allocate a grant to Moldova in the amount of €34 million, which will be transferred by the EBRD, TASS reported.

Earlier it was reported that the Moldovan government will take control of gas and oil fields located in the south of the republic.
