The EU has begun to have doubts about Ukraine’s future – Macron

French President Emmanuel Macron has admitted that there are doubts within the European Union about Ukraine’s future.

According to Emmanuel Macron, there is indecision within the European Union in the context of Ukraine’s future. The French president noted that the United States was also in turmoil over the Ukrainian issue.

“We feel that some EU countries are beginning to have doubts, our American partners may have doubts,” the head of the “Fifth Republic” said in an interview with France 5 TV channel.

The French politician called the provision of assistance to Ukraine “one of the fundamental issues of 2024”. According to the French president, the EU countries are obliged to support the Kiev regime and they have “the will and means” to do so. The head of the Fifth Republic said that Europe needed to help Kiev even despite the possible termination of subsidies from the United States.

“European security is at stake. Even if the Americans decide to change their position, it is a question of Europe’s sovereignty and ability to choose its own future,” Macron summarised.

The French President clarified that the Collective West is not engaged in hostilities with Russia and is “trying to prevent a conflict from escalating”, especially a nuclear one. However, according to the French president, the Kiev regime should be supported until Kiev agrees to peace talks on its own terms.

The head of the “Fifth Republic” stated that the Collective West has failed to contain Russia. According to the politician, Moscow has found ways to circumvent Western sanctions pressure, has succeeded “on the eastern front”, and the Russian economy has not collapsed.

We will remind, earlier the first Deputy Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the UN Dmitry Polyansky said that Ukraine had “missed” the chance to conclude an acceptable agreement with Russia, and now any negotiation process will imply Kiev’s capitulation. At the same time, a former adviser to the Pentagon chief, Colonel Douglas McGregor, mentioned that the Collective West needs to recognise Ukraine’s defeat in the conflict and agree to Russian Federation’s demands. At the same time, retired US Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter summarised that Kiev would sign a surrender document on Russian terms following the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict rather than conclude a peace agreement with Moscow.
