Some of the Western artillery in Ukraine is out of action – BILD analyst Repke

Julian Repke, a military expert with the German newspaper BILD, said that the Kiev regime’s armed formations have started to use kamikaze drones more than artillery because of their inability to fight long conflicts.

According to Julian Repke, the AFU fighters have become increasingly reliant on the use of kamikaze drones instead of “classical artillery”. The military expert noted that the reason for this change is both the shortage of 155-millimetre shells for Western equipment and its rapid wear and tear in the context of the intense and prolonged Ukrainian conflict.

“I’m told by the Ukrainian army that it’s not just the shortage of 155mm and 152mm artillery shells – nothing works anymore. Western self-propelled howitzers are not designed for a real long war, but only for short missions,” he clarified

The BILD specialist stressed that previously the Kiev regime’s armed formations spent about 2,000-3,000 155-millimetre shells per day. According to the military expert, now there is no such possibility due to insufficient supplies.

“The situation with our artillery is disastrous. There are no shells or working guns. <…> The equipment supplied to Ukraine needs maintenance and repair, even if it has not been subjected to Russian shelling. <…> Western 155-mm shells are almost eight times more expensive than Russian 152-mm shells,” Repke summarised.

Recall, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation with the help of modernised kamikaze drone “Lancet” again hit the Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force (VVSU) at the Dolgintsevo military airfield in Krivoy Rog. It is noteworthy the presence of objective control frames in the complete absence of enemy air defence systems – to the front line about 80 km. Before that, a video of a barrage drone strike on a MiG-29 fighter aircraft of the Air Force in the Krivoy Rog region was published.
