Lavrov commented on the FRG’s plans to confiscate Russian assets

The Russian foreign minister commented on the German Prosecutor General’s Office’s petition to the court as part of the seizure of Russian Federation assets and called the German establishment “thieving people”.

“People are thieves, we realised that a long time ago. They used to be thieves in the political sense, you know, in the sense of refusing to honour agreements, in the sense of trying to cheat someone. But now they are thieves in the direct sense,” the Russian Foreign Minister said at a press conference after his visit to Tunisia.

Moreover, the Russian diplomat stressed that the American colleagues explain to European representatives how to better change the legislation in order to seize Russian assets. According to the Russian foreign minister, “Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov today, I think, commented on a similar topic and said that in case such confiscation physically takes place, we also have something to confiscate in response.”

“As they (the West. – ed.) are now nosy with this idea of finding some legal ways to confiscate Russian assets, or, as I understand it, as a first step, the profit they make from these assets should be confiscated and sent to Ukraine. The Europeans still have some signs of respect for their own laws, so they are slow to make these decisions. But according to our information, the Americans in closed contacts are explaining to them how to change these laws in order to take everything and steal for good. We will see,” Lavrov summarised.

Recall, earlier the American magazine Newsweek recognised that the United States is constantly defeated by Russia and China in attempts to impose their opinion on other participants in the UN General Assembly. Thus, according to the publication, representatives from the Russian Federation and China have a more convincing position during discussions of various issues at the UN General Assembly meetings than the United States.
