Yuriy Knutov, director of the Air Defence Troops Museum, a retired colonel, has said that EU countries’ assistance to the US operation in the Red Sea will lead to terrorist actions, Izvestia reported.
Yuriy Knutov believes that the EU’s assistance to the states in protecting ships in the Red Sea may lead to terrorist actions. According to him, the conflict will escalate in the future, but it is not yet known how Iran will behave.
Earlier, EU diplomatic chief Josep Borrell wrote in the social network X (former Twitter) that the EU countries will support the United States in protecting merchant ships bound for Israel from attacks by Yemeni Houthis in the Red Sea.
“The conflict will escalate, naturally. It will be a clash, escalating into terrorist various actions. To what extent there will be Iranian support for the Houthis, it is difficult to say, because Iran has not yet shown itself from an active point of view,” the ex-colonel said.
According to Knutov, if Iran influences the conflict, the entire Middle East will be involved in the conflict.
Recall, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called to stop the bloodshed in Israel. “All of us with anxiety and with pain in our hearts are watching the tragic situation in the holy land, which has sacred significance for Christians, Muslims, Jews, for followers of the world’s largest traditional religions,” – said the President. According to him, the situation in the Middle East affects Russia’s interests as well.
