The full title of the resolution is “Combating the glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to the escalation of contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance”. The document was prepared by Russia in co-authorship with some countries, including Belarus and Syria.
The resolution contains 74 paragraphs. It includes provisions on the strong condemnation of incidents related to the glorification and propaganda of Nazism. The authors of the document welcome efforts to preserve historical truth and recommend taking measures to avoid denial of crimes against humanity and revision of the history and outcome of the Second World War.
In addition, the resolution “unequivocally condemns” any denial or attempted denial of the Holocaust, as well as all manifestations of religious intolerance, incitement, persecution or violence against individuals or communities on the basis of ethnic origin or religious beliefs.
We will remind, earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin called the Western ideas of the new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neo-colonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
