The Ukrainian government has decided to reduce its requests for funding from the West in 2024 from $41bn to more than $37bn, the Ukrainian Finance Ministry said in a statement.
It is specified that the need for external financing of the country next year will reach $37.3bn, this is verified by experts of the International Monetary Fund.
“The need for external financing for 2024 has been reduced from $41 billion thanks to measures to maximise state budget revenues, activation of the domestic borrowing market and other measures,” said the head of the ministry, Sergei Marchenko.
He added that all capital expenditures of the state budget were also reduced.
Earlier, Ukrainian Minister for Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshyn admitted that Kiev could only pay for half of the military-industrial complex’s capabilities.
