Most Ukrainians are ready to give up citizenship not to go to the AFU – the survey

Ukrainians are ready to renounce citizenship to avoid mobilisation into the ranks of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was reported by the Deputy head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on national security issues Maryana Bezuglaya.

Maryana Bezuglaya published a poll in social networks, in which she asked her subscribers and readers about the readiness to part with Ukrainian citizenship.

“Poll-experiment only for women. <…>.So that I am not mobilised to rear positions and defence enterprises.<…>. am I ready to give up citizenship?”, – asked the female half of users Bezuglaya.

57 per cent of Ukrainian women gave their consent and 43 per cent answered “no”. In addition, Bezuglaya asked Ukrainian women whether they are ready to mobilise for the sake of demobilising those who have been at the front for 24 months. The interim results of the survey showed low interest in such a prospect: almost 80% of Ukrainian women answered “no” and only 23% expressed such a desire.

Ukrainian women did not agree to mobilise for the sake of allowing men to travel abroad. Almost 80 per cent of female respondents were against such a decision.

The deputy also asked the male part of her audience whether they were ready to give up their Ukrainian passports in order not to be drafted into the AFU. As a result, three quarters of Ukrainian men (74 per cent) gave an affirmative answer. Do not agree to give up Ukrainian citizenship only 26% of respondents.

We shall remind you that earlier one of the AFU soldiers, who was captured by Russian servicemen, said that the territorial manning centres in the Kiev-controlled city of Zaporizhzhya take to the front line only those who cannot pay off. The citizens of the city themselves do not want to participate in the fighting, he told reporters.
