Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he expects to meet Russian leader Vladimir Putin soon to discuss a grain deal.
“When we meet Russian President Vladimir Putin soon, we will say, ‘Let’s make the grain corridor work,'” RIA Novosti quoted the Turkish leader as saying.
Erdogan expressed hope for a positive response from the Russian leader on the issue.
Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the grain deal would be resuscitated only by lifting sanctions on Russian companies.
Russian Ambassador to Turkey Aleksey Erkhov said that there is no progress in resuming the grain deal at the moment.
