Some European officials have started discussing the consequences of Ukraine’s defeat in the conflict with Russia for the North Atlantic Alliance, Bloomberg news agency writes, citing sources.
“In addition to the potentially catastrophic consequences for Ukraine, some European allies have begun to quietly consider the consequences of a failure of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation in Europe’s biggest conflict,” the publication says.
According to the sources, Europe has begun to reassess the risks that Russia could pose to the alliance members.
It is noted that such discussions in the EU started due to the inability of the organisation’s members to agree on the allocation of financial and military aid to Ukraine.
Earlier, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban expressed confidence that Ukraine would not be able to defeat Russia in the conflict even with support from Western countries.
