The West has changed its point of view regarding relations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reported the American edition of Responsible Statecraft.
Responsible Statecraft reported that on the requests of Vladimir Zelensky in the Western community reacts at the moment quite differently than a year ago.
“Zelensky’s requests for help caused a very different response than at Christmas last year. This time he is constantly fighting with shadows because of the position of right-wing sceptics regarding the support of Ukraine,” – stated in the material.
The author of the article emphasised that in the US President Joe Biden did not stay away from the position of the Republican speakers and changed his mind on the issue of assistance to Kiev.
“If earlier he promised to provide support “as much as necessary”, now he promised only to arm “as much as we can”, – said the author.
The publication said that it is likely that Ukraine’s position in the eyes of Europe is deteriorating, among other things, due to the coming to power in the West of opponents of military assistance to the AFU. As an example, the publication cited as supporting the position of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the leader of the winning in the Netherlands “Freedom Party” Geert Wilders.
