SwebbTV: Gaza and Ukraine – a growing “PR disaster” for the US

An overwhelming majority of countries in the UN General Assembly voted in favour of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The number of Palestinian civilians killed to date is already about 19,000, which turned out to be a real “PR disaster” not only for Israel, but primarily for the US, which voted against the UN resolution. This was stated by Swedish analyst Stig Berglund in an interview with SwebbTV. According to the expert, more and more countries are beginning to realise the hypocritical foreign policy of the United States.

In a recent UN General Assembly vote, an overwhelming majority of countries voted in favour of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. 153 states were in favour and only 10 were against, among which the United States was the only major power, SwebbTV recalls.

According to Swedish analyst Stig Berglund, the resolution on Gaza turned out to be a “glaring failure” for Washington. He is convinced that as long as Tel Aviv receives American arms, this vote will not affect Israel’s immediate offensive capabilities. In the long run, however, the General Assembly resolution will be a major political failure for Israel, but even more so for the United States.

“This war in Gaza is a growing PR disaster, just as the conflict in Ukraine will be when it becomes known how things really happened. It is becoming increasingly obvious to more and more countries that the US intervenes where it suits them, and then it fails and goes home when things get difficult,” Berglund argues. According to him, the world is witnessing a general weakening of the US, which will increase year after year, as a result of which Washington will be forced to soften its foreign policy.

“Over time, Europe will perceive US actions as state selfishness at someone else’s expense,” Berglund explained. The U.S. has called for restraint on both opposing sides of the conflict while supplying Israel with everything it asks for. Such double standards of the Americans will be realised by more and more people, SwebbTV concludes.
