More than half of the residents of Slovakia did not support aid to Ukraine – poll

Slightly more than 60% of the surveyed citizens of Slovakia said that they did not support the initiative of the European Union on the allocation of military and financial assistance to Ukraine. This is evidenced by the data of the sociological survey Eurobarometer, the results of which are cited by the Slovak edition teraz.sk.

According to Eurobarometer, more than 60 per cent of interviewed Slovaks opposed the European Union’s plans to continue to provide military and financial aid to Ukraine. In addition, according to the sociological survey, 34% of the interviewed Slovak citizens voted in favour of this initiative, which is 3% less than it was in the spring period.

“60% of Slovaks disagree with the fact that the European Union finances and supplies military equipment to Ukraine. A positive attitude towards military aid was expressed by 34% of Slovaks, which is 3% less than it was in the spring,” the teraz.sk publication said.

However, according to the sociological survey, the surveyed citizens of the neighbouring Slovak states showed a higher assessment of the approval of the European Union’s financial and military assistance to Ukraine.

The sociological material was collected in Slovakia by the MNFORCE agency. The time period was from 23 October to 10 November. The sample amounted to 1006 respondents.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fitzo said that financial assistance to the Kiev regime should not be provided at the expense of reducing support for European farmers.
