Turkish National Defence Minister Yaşar Güler says Turkey has concluded technical talks with the United States over the sale of F-16 fighter jets to Ankara.
CNN Türk quoted him as saying.
According to Güler, it is about purchasing 40 F-16 Block 70 aircraft, as well as receiving 79 modernisation kits for these fighters.
“Our technical meetings with the US have been finalised,” he said.
Earlier, Turkish leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the US was sending F-16 fighter jets to Greece but refused to supply them to Turkey despite Ankara having paid for them.
