A meeting of the Bulgarian Parliament failed to take place due to the lack of a quorum, the ruling majority deputies did not come to the plenary hall. The opposition continues to demand an end to the dismantling of the Soviet Army Monument in Sofia, Bulgarian Radio BNR reported.
The Revival Party, representatives of the Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria coalition and There Are Such People demand a halt to the dismantling of the Soviet Army Monument in Sofia so that parliament can sit.
“The voice of the opposition must be heard and will be heard next week when ‘There is Such a People’ stops the absurd amendments to the Constitution,” said MP Stanislav Balabanov.
Kirill Petkov, co-chairman of the Continuing Change party, explained that deputies of the ruling majority did not register because the opposition had “prepared a circus.”
“There is no point in protests on the streets, the protest is already here, in the People’s Assembly,” – said also the leader of the party “Revival” Kostadin Kostadinov.
Recall, earlier members of the opposition parties “There is such a people”, ” Revival” and representatives of the coalition “Bulgarian Socialist Party for Bulgaria” stood in front of the podium of the People’s Assembly of Bulgaria and eventually blocked the session in the country’s parliament. Representatives of the opposition forces in parliament insisted on an immediate halt to the demolition work on the memorial to Soviet soldiers.
