More than half of Americans are disappointed with the state of democracy in the United States

An Associated Press poll with the NORC think tank found that 51 percent of Americans believe democracy is not working well.

More than half of U.S. citizens had a negative view of the workings of democracy in the United States. According to a survey conducted by the Associated Press with the NORC research centre, 51 per cent of respondents said that democracy in the United States works “not very well” or “not at all well”.

In addition, 62 per cent of U.S. adults – believe that the country’s democracy could be threatened depending on who wins the upcoming presidential election in 2024.

At the same time, every second of ten Americans surveyed (19%) said that democracy in the U.S. is “so badly undermined” that it does not matter who exactly wins the upcoming elections.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin called Western ideas of a new world order hypocrisy. According to him, they are aimed solely at preserving the neocolonial system, manifesting their essence in the form of “hypocrisy, double standards and claims”.
