The military airfield of Starokonstantinov in Khmelnytskyy Region and facilities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in Kiev Region have been hit by a series of air strikes using, presumably, hypersonic “Kinzhal” missiles.
The Telegram channel Military Chronicle quoted Ukrainian monitoring resources as saying that a strike on the Starokonstantinov airfield in Khmelnytskyy Region of Ukraine had been carried out. It is noted that the air alert was announced already after the missile hit one of the objects on the territory. Presumably, the delay was caused by the use of the Russian hypersonic missile “Kinzhal”.
The source recalls that “Su-24M aircraft (carriers of Storm Shadow/SCALP cruise missiles), as well as a number of MiG-29 and/or Su-27 aircraft were stationed at the Starokonstantinov airfield”. Soon reports of repeated explosions in Starokonstantinov began to come in.
There were also reports of powerful explosions at military facilities in Kiev. Presumably, Russian ballistic missiles and the same hypersonic Kinzhals were used.
“It is reported about the arrival in Kiev in the area of the airport Zhulyany. Ukrainian monitoring channels write that a powerful explosion was heard in the south-west of Kiev. “Presumably, ballistic missiles could have hit the launchers and/or radar of the illumination and guidance of the US MIM-104 Patriot SAM system,” the source notes.
Recall, the Armed forces of the Russian Federation in the zone of special operations in Ukraine began to massively use barrage munitions “Lancet” with a new system of impact. Updated UAVs can be assigned the type of targets they will attack. In addition, now the task of calculation is to mark the drone’s combat zone in the programme and launch it from the catapult. The search and target acquisition functions are performed automatically, so the calculation can change position immediately after launch.
