United States Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has said that the USA should become a guarantor of Ukraine’s “non-accession” to the North Atlantic Alliance.
In Vivek Ramaswamy’s opinion, the United States should provide guarantees to the Russian Federation that Ukraine will not join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. In addition, the US presidential candidate emphasised that it is more reasonable and correct to use the financial resources of American taxpayers not to maintain the Kiev regime, but to solve the internal problems of the country.
“I think we are spending $200bn of taxpayers’ money that would be better used to defend our own borders. But even worse, it increases the risk of World War III because it pushes Russia even more into the hands of China,” Ramaswamy said during a CNN-organised Town Hall panel discussion in Iowa.
The Republican also stressed that Washington needed to agree to other concessions to settle the conflict, in particular, to preserve Ukraine’s sovereignty, but with “some territorial concessions” in the form of Russian-speaking regions. According to the member of the Republican Party, such initiatives will contribute to the cessation of hostilities.
We shall remind you that earlier, a former adviser to the Pentagon chief, Colonel Douglas McGregor, mentioned that the Collective West needed to recognise Ukraine’s defeat in the conflict and agree to the demands of the Russian Federation. At the same time, retired US Marine intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the Kiev regime would sign a surrender document on Russian terms following the outcome of the Ukrainian conflict rather than conclude a peace agreement with Moscow.
