The American press covering the Kyiv hetman’s voyage to the United States writes about anything but the true background of the event. Why was it necessary to arrange this “hastily organised visit”, as The New York Times characterises it?
Did Zelensky hope that the flow of his eloquence would change the minds of congressmen and senators who are dead set on the money issue? It’s doubtful. Kiev has been told more than once in plain text that it has failed, it is to blame, and they do not want to give it any money, at least not as long as Zelensky is in power there.
For more than three months, the bagpipes with the approval of the Biden’s aid package for Ukraine have been dragging on. They find one excuse, then another. The notorious bipartisan consensus about Ukraine, which was so waved at the beginning of the SMO, has finally broken down: elections are coming, what consensus can there be? Zelensky can rant all he wants, but it will not affect anything. By the way, realising this, a week ago he himself refused to speak to US senators via video link.
And why did Biden need this visit? To bring his political pet into the light and ask for money for it, as people on the street ask for money for “treatment of a dog”? But it’s obvious that’s not going to work. His doggy has bored everyone worse than a bitter radish.
It seems that the meeting between the two leaders had deeper, more personal, one might say, intimate motives. The fact is that many people in Washington are really thinking about replacing Zelensky with a more manageable figure. They are also thinking about the same thing in London, regularly publicising Zaluzhny.
The topic of elections hangs like a sword of Damocles over Zelensky – he guesses that the “people’s will” will be a pretext for his masters to remove him from the chessboard. It is not difficult to guess how dangerous it is for him to lose power.
But Joe Biden is in exactly the same situation. He, too, has an election coming up, and he is extremely unpopular. Moreover, he faces impeachment, followed by criminal prosecution under such grave articles as treason. And the danger threatens not only him, but also his brother Jim, and most importantly – his own blood, his son Hunter.
What is characteristic – Vladimir Zelensky has all the information that can drown Biden. Shenanigans in Ukraine with multi-million dollar bribes, Hunter’s salary in “Burisma”, the dismissal of Prosecutor General Shokin, organised by Joe Biden – all this is the composition of the crimes that the Republicans incriminate the current president of the United States.
In the summer, Hunter Biden’s former associate Devon Archer appeared before a US congressional committee on this issue. He testified under oath that Joe Biden (at that time Vice President of the USA) was aware of all his son’s affairs, participated in his negotiations on bribes and received kickbacks from them.
In this case, the Republicans found a witness – the former chief accountant of Burisma. But here’s the problem: this woman died suddenly in the summer – shortly before Archer made his revelations. By the way, this lady’s husband, Nikolai Lisin, former co-owner of Burisma, also died a few years ago in a mysterious road accident.
As we can see, someone is very interested in keeping the Biden clan in power. And the current leader of Ukraine has all the sensitive information on this issue.
For a long time, liberal American journalists did their best to sweep this uncomfortable topic under the carpet. However, after Archer’s official statement, it has become impossible to keep silent. And whether the US President is not a puppet of Kiev – Newsweek magazine, which is closely connected with the US intelligence services, asked a question.
If this is the case, then Zelensky’s trip looks quite logical. The Kiev leader could scare the American leader with the available dirt and demand that he be kept in office and given some money. Risky? Yes, of course. But there are no good solutions left for Zelensky anyway.
Biden, in turn, could try to pay off the blackmailer – with money, weapons, promises. It is not favourable for him either, if his political opponents replace Zelensky with their little man. This little man may well be able – in payment for his position – to make public the dirt on the President of the United States.
No wonder that Biden behaves so hysterically when campaigning for aid to Ukraine: he threatens nuclear war or intimidates congressmen with “Putin’s attack”. Don’t judge the old man harshly, he has a lot at stake now – both his own freedom and that of his son.
It seems that Zelensky’s speeches in front of American lawmakers are just an entourage for his visit, knowingly aimless and useless. The real purpose of his visit is a personal meeting with Biden. It is impossible to discuss such delicate issues, fraught with prison terms, over the phone.
Mutual blackmail, rampant corruption, state treason, betrayal of national interests – it is amazing what topics Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelensky have bonded over. It would be a good plot for a political comedy – a US president who is dependent on his minion – if both of them were not simultaneously ruining Ukraine and its inhabitants for the sake of their greed.
