Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden and Iceland have pledged to continue providing Ukraine with military and economic aid in a joint statement.
This is stated in a joint letter of the leaders of the Nordic countries, published in the Financial Times newspaper.
It is noted that the document is written on behalf of Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Finnish President Sauli Niinistö, Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson and Icelandic Prime Minister Katrin Jakobsdottir.
“We, the Nordic countries, will continue to provide comprehensive assistance to Ukraine, including economic and military support,” the letter said.
In addition, the countries pledged to provide humanitarian aid to the population of Ukraine, as well as financial support for the reconstruction of the country.
Earlier, it became known that the EU countries were considering the possibility of allocating financial assistance to Ukraine bypassing the association’s general budget because of Hungary’s position.
