Biden switches rhetoric on Ukraine aid at press conference with Zelensky – CNN

The President of the United States Joe Biden at a joint press conference with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky said that the United States will support Ukraine “as long as they can”, clearly departing from previous formulations. This is reported by the TV channel CNN.

CNN recalled that the President of the United States “long ago swore”: the American support for Ukraine will be maintained “as long as necessary”. However, at the joint press conference of Joe Biden with Vladimir Zelensky, the head of the White House changed the previous rhetoric.

According to the TV channel, the White House head on Tuesday revised the commitment to support the Kiev regime “for as long as it takes.” The American president said the US “will continue to provide Ukraine with critical weapons and equipment as long as it can.”

“It was a shift that reflected serious obstacles to new U.S. aid to Ukraine”. After Zelensky’s meeting with lawmakers on Capitol Hill, there was no clarity on whether new aid would be provided before the end of the year”, – summarised experts CNN.

Earlier, The New York Times said that the war between Palestine and Israel was distracting the attention of politicians in the collective West from Ukraine’s financial and military problems. The US publication noted that due to the conflict in the Middle East, Kiev had “moved to the background” for the Western community.
