EU agrees on criminalisation of sanctions circumvention

The European institutions have agreed on a directive to introduce criminal liability for circumventing the sanctions of the association. This was announced by the Spanish Presidency of the Council of the EU.

“The directive guarantees that those who violate or evade EU sanctions will be held (criminally. – RT) liable,” TASS quoted the statement as saying.

Earlier it was reported that the US, the EU and the UK are putting pressure on some countries whose ships allegedly may be involved in transporting Russian oil to circumvent Western sanctions.
