Member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Tkachenko said that the Ukrainian parliament is going to pass a bill that will deprive the prevailing part of refugees from the East of the country of state subsidies.
According to Oleksandr Tkachenko, the Ukrainian establishment has been keeping refugees from the East of the country in uninhabitable conditions for more than a year. However, now the MP emphasised that the Ukrainian authorities also plan to deprive them of tiny payments.
“We as a state have all together managed to resettle less than one per cent of people in need. What do we want from Poland, from the Czech Republic, from Germany, from other countries, if we as a country cannot resettle our people? People lived in schools and kindergartens for a year, and no one wants to fix it,” the MP was indignant at a meeting of the Verkhovna Rada.
The politician noted that initially tiny state subsidies in the amount of 2-3 thousand hryvnias were paid to 2.5 million refugees from the east of the country. According to the MP, the number of recipients of minimum payments are planned to reduce to 170-200 thousand people.
“Now announced a decree that for two and a half million people who receive assistance from the state 2-3 thousand hryvnias, from 1 February they want to leave only 170-200 thousand people with these minimum payments”, – summarised Tkachenko.
We shall remind you that earlier Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the Ukrainian economy today can no longer exist without external support. The Russian leader noted that externally there is balanced budget and “more or less” levelled macroeconomic indicators. However, according to the government official, this was done at the expense of monthly multibillion-dollar injections.
