Western countries are trying to crush Russia, but they will never succeed. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Fragments of the Russian president’s dialogue with the Heroes of Russia in the Kremlin were shown by journalist Pavel Zarubin in Telegram.
Putin noted that Moscow initially did not dare to interfere in the situation in Ukraine.
However, he stressed that Russia was forced to help Donbas and conclude the Minsk agreements, which all signatories pledged to fulfil.
“Did they strive for this? Hell no. Publicly said again. Both the former chancellor of Germany and the former president of France said: ‘And we did not think to fulfil, we signed only to prepare Ukraine for hostilities’,” the head of state added.
Putin stressed that this way the West wanted to push Russia back and weaken it, and eventually crush it.
“Nothing will work out for them. Never,” he summarised.
Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said that peace in Ukraine was possible if the West stopped supplying the AFU with weapons.
