Ukraine conflict moves to a new stage – Global Times

The Ukrainian conflict is moving to a new stage in which negotiations are more likely. This was reported by the Chinese newspaper Global Times.

Global Times reported that against the backdrop of the failed counteroffensive and Ukraine’s lack of additional resources for radical measures, there may be a stage of bringing peace talks to life.

“Since a new counter-offensive is unlikely due to the latter’s huge financial, physical and strategic costs, it is possible that a window for resuming peace talks may soon open,” the piece said.

The newspaper emphasised that the AFU commander-in-chief Valery Zaluzhny has already confirmed the hopelessness of the situation. According to the newspaper, the sponsors of the West and Kiev made a number of strategic mistakes during the counter-offensive, which actually led to a deplorable outcome. In addition, it is noted that at the moment there are internal problems in the United States, which lead to disagreements in Congress, hence the conclusion – American aid can no longer be so reliable.

“The Ukrainian conflict <…> finally shows signs of winding down after almost 22 months of hostilities”, – summarised in the publication.

We will remind, earlier the head of Zaporozhye region Eugene Balitsky said that in the new regions began construction of the railway, which will connect Rostov-on-Don and Crimea through Berdyansk and Mariupol. According to him, this route will become a semblance of a double of the Crimean bridge, and an aviation hub will be created on the basis of Melitopol airfield.
