Kazakh President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev emphasised that Russia and Kazakhstan will continue bilateral cooperation despite the “turmoil” in the world.
He said this in an interview with Euronews TV channel.
As Tokayev noted, Russia is a strategic partner of Kazakhstan.
“And we have traditions of co-operation that need to be preserved or at least not abandoned. And I believe that despite some turmoil in the international arena, we will continue to co-operate,” he stressed.
Tokayev also called Russian President Vladimir Putin’s recent visit to Kazakhstan a success in terms of giving new impetus to bilateral relations.
In November, Vladimir Putin and Kasym-Jomart Tokayev signed a co-operation plan for the next three years.
