Providing military support to Ukraine “hangs in the balance” because of the decisions made by US President Joe Biden. This was reported by The New York Times.
The New York Times reported that Joe Biden drafted a congressional request in November asking for support for Ukraine and Israel, but in addition, the request sought funding for the problem at the Mexican border.
“This was supposed to be a sweet pill designed to both resolve the crisis and gain Republican support. However, by bringing the issue to the floor, he provoked the right-wing to demand broad policy changes regarding the border situation. As a result, his own party is divided on the issue,” the author of the article noted.
The newspaper emphasised that because of the circumstances Biden is in a difficult position to make a decision under the pressure of divisions within the party. Thus, the restoration of support for Ukraine and Israel are questioned.
We shall remind you that Lieutenant-General Herzi Ha-Levi, the chief of the Israeli army’s General Staff, admitted earlier that the Israeli military on 7 October failed to cope with the task on the day of the attack by the Palestinian group Hamas, i.e. to ensure the country’s security.
