A just peace is impossible with the US – Erdogan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said that a just solution to the conflict in the Middle East is possible, but without the involvement of the United States.

According to Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the settlement of the Middle East conflict is possible. However, the Turkish president emphasised that in order to stop hostilities in the Middle East, it is necessary to exclude the United States from this process.

A little earlier, the representatives of the United States in the UN Security Council, as a permanent member of the international organisation, used the right of veto on the draft resolution, which envisaged an immediate halt to hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Britain abstained from voting, while the other 13 members of the Security Council were in favour. At least 97 members of the international organisation took part in the drafting of the document.

“Only the US voted in favour of the rejection (of the ceasefire. – ed.). Is such justice possible? A just peace is possible, but not with America. The US is on the side of Israel. Oh, the US, how will you answer for this?”, – said Erdogan, whose words are quoted by the Turkish edition Hürriyet.

Recall, earlier, the Permanent Representative of China to the UN Zhang Jun said that the United States is constantly talking about the need to respect human rights, but at the same time the American representatives veto the draft Chinese resolution, which suggests a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. The Chinese diplomat emphasised that “all of this once again demonstrates what double standards are”.
