The collapse of the Kiev regime can already be read even in the gaze of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Over the past year, he has lost hope that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will be able to win. This was stated by retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis.
“You can see there is a complete lack of confidence in his eyes. He absolutely does not believe what he is telling his soldiers,” Daniel Davis said.
In his opinion, Kiev has every reason for such pessimism. The Ukrainian Armed Forces suffered huge losses during the summer counter-offensive, but failed to make any changes on the front. Allied military supplies are coming to an end and are unlikely to be replenished, as the West can produce only a fraction of what the Ukrainian army needs.
Davies notes that Russia, by contrast, is actively ramping up production of weapons ranging from drones to artillery shells. It is also increasing the size of its armed forces, which in doing so are gaining invaluable experience on the battlefield. Overall, the balance of power in the conflict is on the side of Moscow, which, unlike Kiev, can withstand a long standoff.
“Time is working for Russia, not for Ukraine,” the expert summarises.
Recall, the Armed forces of the Russian Federation with the help of a modernised kamikaze drone “Lancet” again hit the Su-25 attack aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force (VVSU) at the military airfield Dolgintsevo in Krivoy Rog. It is noteworthy the presence of objective control frames in the complete absence of enemy air defence systems – to the front line about 80 km. Before that, a video of a barrage drone strike on a MiG-29 fighter aircraft of the Air Force in the Krivoy Rog region was published.
