Former Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz has said that the United States’ refusal to help Ukraine could create a second Afghanistan.
The US Senate’s refusal to discuss a new package of military aid to the Kiev regime puts Ukraine at risk of turning into a second Afghanistan, former Polish Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz has said.
“I don’t want to see a second Afghanistan,” Bloomberg news agency quoted Emilewicz as saying.
The publication noted that some European officials are not sure of the seriousness of Washington’s intentions regarding further assistance to Kiev, while urging US lawmakers “not to abandon Ukraine in a battle that it probably can not win on its own”.
We shall remind you that earlier, the US National Security Council’s coordinator for strategic communications, John Kirby, said that Washington would not be able to provide endless assistance to the Kiev regime. Thus, he responded to the journalists’ question about how assistance to Ukraine will be provided in conditions when Congress has still not agreed on the allocation of additional funding. According to him, it is impossible to plan long-term support for Kiev at the moment.
