BI: Russia may build more Yasen nuclear submarines, worrying NATO

Russia may expand its military fleet with new Yasen submarines, which have raised concerns among North Atlantic alliance countries.

This is informed by Business Insider.

As the publication writes, these subs are capable of launching land-based cruise missiles and anti-ship missiles, which is of concern to Western officials.

“This is a relatively new capability that, in their (officials. – RT) opinion, could allow the subs to approach and strike important targets in Europe and North America,” the publication says.

The publication claims that Russia continues to expand its fleet with these subs.

In May, Admiral Ben Kay, head of the British Navy, said it was necessary to invest in advanced capabilities to be able to detect Russian submarines, which are among the quietest in the world.
