Senator Alexei Pushkov expressed the opinion that the new historical record of gold price is a sign of the end of the hegemony of the United States.
Pushkov wrote in Telegram.
On December 4, the price of gold per troy ounce exceeded $2.1 thousand for the first time in history.
According to the senator, the rise in the price of gold is primarily bad news for the U.S. dollar and the United States. Pushkov added that it undermines confidence in the US currency.
“Another sign of the ‘end of history’ of US hegemony as everyone knew it,” the report said.
Earlier, analyst of FG Finam Alexander Potavin shared a forecast regarding further growth in gold prices.
